LEED certification of the Hearst Tower in New York

The paper needs to be an in-depth investigation into the Hearst Tower building in Manhattan New York with 1 specific focus (the LEED certification) and the emergent material technology pertinent to the building envelope/façade. The purpose of this research paper is to talk about how the building received its LEED (leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification via its diagrid façade and other methods that created energy savings for the building and led it to be more energy efficient than the standard office building. The exterior of the Hearst Tower is primarily made up of a diagrid design that is comprised of a series of four-story, peeled back steel triangles on a façade of sloping floor to ceiling glass and this makes for an interesting implementation of different methods that lead to its energy efficiency. I’d like to discuss the natural day lighting as well as the high efficiency heating and air conditioning equipment used in the building. There are other features on this building such as a roof that collects rainwater for use in the building and a special low-E coating used on the glass that keeps the solar radiation from overheating the mainly glass façade building. Basically, this research paper is supposed to discuss how the Hearst Tower earned its LEED certification using its particular methods and outlining those.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. The paper needs to be an in-depth investigation into the building with 1 specific focus (the LEED certification) and the emergent material technology pertinent to the building envelope/facade
2. Include annotated figures, sketches, photos, graphs, etc. to support the focus of the paper
3. Everything needs to be cited and put on a bibliography.
