. 1) Using PsychInfo, Scopus or Web of Science, or similar Massey library journal database, find a psychology research article that used human participants. (Note that it should be from a peer-reviewed journal that was published after 2010). 

. 2) Write an essay that offers a critique of the article in terms of ethics. In particular think about what you would need to consider if you wanted to replicate the research here at Massey University.
• You will need to briefly explain the research. 

• Consider what the benefits of the research are. This should be in terms of both 
the benefit of participation and in terms of the benefit of knowledge. 

• Consider what the ethical costs of the research might be. For example, what harm could have come to the participants, or was the knowledge gained worth 
the participants’ time? 
 Write the Risks and benefits from the research using Massey Ethical code and Cozby
• Refer to the chapter on ethics in your textbook (Cozby) as well as other sources, 
such as the APA ethics guidelines and Massey’s Human ethics guidelines 
(http://humanethics.massey.ac.nz/). 

• If relevant you may want to comment on any ethical issues that may have arisen 
if the research had been conducted in New Zealand (e.g. Treaty of Waitangi, biculturalism). 

. 3) The essay should be in APA format (American Psychological Association). Refer to Appendix A of your textbook (Cozby) for guidance on writing style as per APA.
